Disaster - Now What?
Wednesday 19th August, 2.30 - 4.45pm
How do disasters work and what factors contribute to the impact of disasters on communities? What are the health effects of disaster and how can we prepare and respond effectively? What are the current trends in disaster management? These questions and more will be the basis of discussions in this Symposium. A key panel of health professionals will discuss future disaster health research priorities for the community health sector:

- Getting ready & responding to a disaster - Professor Kristine Gebbie, Columbia University School of Nursing
- Trends and issues in disaster - Dr David Templeman, Alcohol and other Drugs Council of Australia
